Alane Bollenbacher manages both the CO₂ atmospheric sampling program and the reference gas calibration program. Alane is involved in all aspects of the stable ¹³C/¹²C isotopic program, including calibration and analysis.

Activities

• Perform and direct the analysis of atmospheric samples collected in glass flasks for CO₂ content using infrared analysis and vacuum line techniques.
• Oversee the preparation of CO₂-in-AIR mixtures for use as standard reference materials for the Scripps CO₂ Program and other research groups.
• Process experimental data and maintain atmospheric and isotopic databases.
• Oversee shipment of reference gases and related materials to field stations worldwide.
